Not to be outdone by the Big Apple, London’s mayor, Boris Johnson finally sees sense and throws down the gauntlet for a High Line for London. The competition run in conjunction with the Landscape Institute and Garden Museum is a call to extend the capital’s green infrastructure which could also involve transport links and can extend anywhere within the Greater London Authority.
The brief is quite open, encouraging entrants to consider both public and private green spaces, green landmarks, green roofs, reintegration of derelict spaces for wildlife and also edible landscapes.
So, calling all landscape architects, urban planners and anyone interested in the city’s regeneration. Entries need to be in by 14th September 2012.
